Dr. Shazia Alam is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and Board Eligible for the Vascular Neurology Boards. Dr. Alam is the Clerkship Director for the student and resident education program for the Department of Neuroscience.
She joined Winthrop Neuroscience P.C. as a Neurohospitalist. She earned her medical degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, PA. She completed an internship at Henry Ford Hospital in Michigan and then a residency in neurology at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. This was followed by a fellowship in Vascular Neurology at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Dr. Alam’s primary interest is inpatient neurology and acute management of ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and American Stroke Association.
